HIstoric District and Urban High-rise Building Design

 

With a history of more than 600 years in city construction and modern urban development, there are a large number of unique historic buildings and neighborhoods in Tianjin. From 1860 to 1950, nine countries established the concession areas, including Britain, France, United States, Germany, Japan, Russia, Italy, Belgium and Austria-Hungary. Today, historic buildings and multi-culture derived from the construction processes of the concession areas, have become into a valuable cultural resource and the historical context that could not be ignored in contemporary city construction. Currently, there are 14 historic districts in Tianjin, and more than 800 buildings are named "the historic building" by government. Nowadays, the historic buildings and historic neighborhoods are located in the core area of central Tianjin, the conflict between heritage preservation and urban development is intense.​ The site for this project is located in the core area of central Tianjin. According to Tianjin Spatial Development Strategy Planning and Tianjin Urban Master Planning, this area is defined as the heart of ​​modern financial, business, tourism and service industry in the city, it is one of the historical and cultural neighborhoods determined by the "Master Planning", and it is also rich in historic heritage and beautiful environment.
